Real Relief India Supports Women’s Day and Menstrual Hygiene Awareness Mission at Coimbatore Institute of Technology on 5th March 2026

Real Relief India recently participated in the Women’s Day & Menstrual Hygiene Mission organized by the International Social Development Organization (ISDO) and Happy Periods in association with the Women Empowerment Cell at Coimbatore Institute of Technology.

The initiative brought together students, organizations, and community actors to raise awareness about menstrual hygiene, women’s health, and sustainable menstrual solutions.

During the event, Karthik Thangavel, Director of Real Relief India Pvt Ltd, addressed students about the importance of making informed menstrual product choices and how these decisions influence both women’s health and the environment. His presentation highlighted the growing need for safe, hygienic, and environmentally responsible menstrual solutions, particularly as awareness around product safety and sustainability continues to increase.

As part of the initiative, Gopad™ sanitary pads were distributed to students, helping to strengthen menstrual hygiene awareness and improve access to better menstrual products. The distribution formed part of a broader effort to encourage open dialogue around menstruation and to promote healthier menstrual practices among young women.

Gopad™ is an innovative disposable sanitary pad developed with biotransformation technology, enabling the material to safely break down in nature without leaving microplastics or toxins behind. The pad provides the same comfort and reliability as a conventional disposable pad while significantly reducing its environmental footprint.

The Women’s Day & Menstrual Hygiene Mission is part of a larger regional initiative bringing together 1 theme, 8 districts, and 28 programmes under the message:
“Menstrual Pride & Hygiene Management – Together for a Period Friendly World.”

The initiative is led by the International Social Development Organization and the Happy Periods and Healthy Uterus Trust, organizations working to increase awareness, break menstrual stigma, and promote improved menstrual health practices.

Real Relief is proud to support initiatives that contribute to greater awareness, access to safer menstrual products, and a more inclusive and period-friendly society.
